I’m getting prepared for my first lesson on roller blades this summer. It will be a heavy stress for the knees and I need to be fit.

Dobryi_dohter sent me a link to a video from the world champion for slalom on roller blades: Chloé Seyres, a young French woman. She’s amazing. I don’t know how she does that. But it looks really cool.

I love it when I manage to find the music that reflects my mood perfectly. It feels like an auditory mirror. There is something ecstatic about it. It improves the quality of the feeling so wonderfully. It's like a veil of music making love to you.

This afternoon I incidentally fell on this version of Pergolese's Stabat Mater (I was too lazy to get up and put the CD, so I tried to find a version on you tube) and although I disliked the interpretation, I was caught by the voice of the mezzo soprano. I was surprised that there was actually a good movie on TV on a Friday evening right before Christmas. But the Arte channel made my day (or rather, my evening) again.

In times of trouble, there is always one small piece of music that "chooses" me, at least that's the way it feels. It's one piece of music that I listened to once, and it doesn't get away from my mind. But unlike annoying music that one would like to get out of one's mind, this one is soothing and uplifting at the same time. It's a good companion. ( Read more... )
